Good evening! This is sou7. Did you check out Day 3 of the Nanasaba 1st Season Development Diary yesterday?
Today, the main phase of gameplay has finally begun, and various companies have started opening different transportation services.
For today’s report, I will focus on the central part of the map, the Seinai Region.
Newly Opened Routes in the Seinai Region
A total of five routes have opened in the Seinai Region. Let’s go through them in the order they were established!
Nanairo National Railways - East Main Line
The first railway in Nanairo Country was a line connecting the capital Masaba Prefecture and the neighboring Totsu Prefecture. In November 1884, a train departed from Totsu Central Station, roaring as it made its way toward Masaba.
The first train successfully arrived in Masaba, marking the first-ever railway revenue on this map. This was the dawn of the railway era!
Teito Rapid Transit Authority - Suzaku Avenue Line
The second railway in Nanairo Country was an underground railway running north to south through the capital, Masaba.
One critical point discovered during construction: At this time period, underground stations cannot be built!
As a result, stations were built above ground, while the line only went underground when crossing the river.
The connection with the East Main Line was extremely challenging, as three different companies were involved in the construction. However, after overcoming many difficulties, the project was finally completed!
Between the tunnels, the track runs under the road.
By using the elevated tool, roads were built without altering their original positions, allowing the railway to pass underneath.
You can catch glimpses of smoke and passing trains through the gaps—such a great atmosphere!
Compared to the national railway lines, the Suzaku Avenue Line has cheaper fares, making it a vital transportation option for the citizens of Masaba.
Teito Rapid Transit Authority - Totsu Line
In the neighboring Totsu Prefecture, a tram network was built for urban transportation, operated by steam-powered streetcars.
These steam engines were patented by Wilkinson, featuring a compact yet high-powered design.
Nanairo National Railways - Southwest Main Line
To the southwest of Masaba lies the town of Haruho, Haruho Prefecture, where another railway was constructed.
Along the way, the track crosses a large bay, and a brick bridge was chosen to create a shortcut.
Haruho is surrounded by mountains and the sea, leaving no natural space for a railway.
To solve this, large-scale land reclamation was carried out along the coastline.
This process resembles the construction of Japan’s first railway between Shimbashi and Yokohama, which also involved land reclamation and embankments.
Coincidentally, both lines run along the western shores of their respective bays.
Nanairo Steam Navigation - Masaba Steam Line
To explore even more diverse transportation options, a steamship service was launched along the river that flows through Masaba.
Alongside the Suzaku Avenue Line, it has become an essential means of transportation for the citizens of Masaba!
Even with all these highlights, this is just a small part of today’s developments.
Tomorrow’s report will cover developments outside the Seinai Region and take a closer look at specific towns and cities within the region.
Stay tuned for Day 5 of the Nanasaba 1st Season Development Diary!
