Welcome to the Exciting World of Nanasaba!

Hey there! I’m sou7, the admin of Nanasaba! Today, I’m kicking off a development diary series to introduce you to our Simutrans multiplayer game, “Nanasaba 1st Season”!

The Concept Behind the Server

Our goal is simple yet ambitious:
“Using Simutrans-Extended’s passenger flow system, class structures, and other advanced mechanics to create a realistic transportation network.”

By fully utilizing the enhanced features of Simutrans-Extended, we aim to build a complex, real-world-like transport system!

Server Details

After two weeks of preparation, we’ve finally completed all the necessary settings, and today, Nanasaba 1st Season is officially open!

Welcome to the Land of Seven Colors!

We’ve named this map “Nana-Iro Koku” (七彩国 / The Land of Seven Colors). It consists of 10 regions and 47 prefectures—just like Japan!

Laying the Foundation: Carving Out the Rivers!

Development begins by manually drawing rivers onto a blank map. Simutrans’ default river generation algorithm isn’t exactly brilliant—it often creates unrealistic and visually unappealing rivers. That’s why we, the players, work together to craft natural-looking rivers, setting the stage for the future development of our world!

Take a look at this river, meticulously created by Physka! Originating from the central part of the map, this mighty river splits into branches as it reaches the plains, forming a stunning delta region! Absolutely incredible!

And here, we have a river flowing through Karoshi Prefecture and Harebare Prefecture. Karoshi is a mountainous area where multiple streams converge to form a grand river. By the way, we still need to establish a central city in Karishi, but… can we even fit it into this tiny patch of flat land?! The suspense is real!

That’s a wrap for today’s development report! Stay tuned for Day 2 of the Nanasaba 1st Season Development Diary tomorrow!
