Good evening! I’m sou7. I skipped updating yesterday, so this is my first update in two days, starting from Day 12 of the Nanasaba 1st Season Development Diary. I’m still debating whether to write two posts. Today, since the Houin Main Line has been fully completed, I’ll be introducing it.
Houin Main Line (ToriTori Station - Kanda Station)
Below is the route map for the fully operational Houin Main Line. It connects a single continuous route from Paru City at the base of the peninsula to Manado City at the tip of the peninsula!
Currently, only local trains are in operation. The local train services are divided into three routes:
- The route connecting Paru Station and ToriTori Station.
- The route from Ranpa Station, located to the south of ToriTori City, to Kanda Station, which connects with the Kanda Line.
- The Kanda Line connects with the Houyou Main Line at Kohara Station.
- The route from Kanda Station to Manado Station.
I can’t wait to introduce an express train so that one can travel from Masaba without transfers directly to Manado!
Now, let’s begin with Ranpa Station, as introduced in yesterday’s diary.
Ranpa Station
As explained in the previous entry (Ranpa Station), the origin of Ranpa Station is described there. After the split at Ranpa Station, the main line gradually ascends after crossing the river.
Hanran Station
Then, after running through the highlands for a while, the line descends along the river. Once the altitude has been fully lowered, it arrives at the next stop, Hanran Station.
Takei Station
Arriving at the plain formed by the river, you reach Takei Station. As is typical, Takei City is also built on a river island. Two tram lines operate here, serving as an important means of transportation for the citizens.
For more details, I will cover this in a later cargo feature, but freight ports have been constructed in various locations. These ports are connected by large vessels capable of carrying multiple types of cargo, which enables automated cargo transfers by linking nearby ports with industries.
West Seiu Station
After Takei Station, the terrain continues with mountains jutting out toward the coast. The Houin Main Line was constructed using tunnels and elevated sections. Although there is only a narrow space available for railway construction, the line has been carved out to extend the tracks.
East Seiu Station
East Seiu Town is the largest town in this section, surrounded by mountains. Before the railway opened, the surrounding villages had no option but to travel by boat.
Kanda Station
Kanda Station is where the service routes are split. From here, passengers can transfer to the Kanda Line, which connects with the Houyou Main Line at Kohara Station.
This report has gotten quite long, so in keeping with the operating routes, I will conclude today’s development report for Day 13 here. The section beyond Kanda Station will be introduced in Day 14 of the Nanasaba 1st Season Development Diary, so please be sure to check that out! (Since there was no update yesterday, I’m publishing two posts today!)
